The terms on which Cars Renta provides this website and helps you book rental cars with our partner DiscoverCars and its rental suppliers.
Last updated: 3 October 2026
1. About these terms
These terms apply to your use of cars-renta.com, run by Cars Renta (“Cars Renta”, “we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. How we handle personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
2. What Cars Renta does
Cars Renta is a comparison and booking service. We show car-rental offers from our partner DiscoverCars, which works with the rental suppliers named on each offer. We do not own vehicles, run rental desks or provide insurance or roadside assistance.
Your rental contract is with DiscoverCars and the rental supplier, not with Cars Renta. If you book after following a link from this site, DiscoverCars may pay us a commission. This does not change the price you pay. See how we are paid.
3. Using this website
You agree not to:
- use the site for anything unlawful, fraudulent or misleading, or make bookings you do not intend to keep;
- give false details about yourself or another driver;
- scrape, copy or re-publish prices or content by automated means, or overload the site;
- try to get around its security or access areas that are not meant for you.
We may limit or block access if these terms are broken. We try to keep the site available, but cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.
4. Prices and availability
Prices, vehicles and conditions come from DiscoverCars and the suppliers, change often and are only confirmed when the booking is made. Prices shown on our own content pages are the lowest we have recorded and are not a quote. A vehicle is shown by its model “or similar”: the supplier guarantees the class, not the exact make or model.
Each offer states what it includes, such as mileage, fuel policy, deposit, insurance excess, extras and cancellation terms. Please read them before you book. Some costs, such as the deposit, young-driver or one-way fees, fuel and optional extras, may be payable to the supplier at pick-up.
5. Bookings and payment
Depending on the offer, you either complete the booking on the DiscoverCars website or on this site, where we send your details to DiscoverCars to make the reservation for you. Either way, the booking is made with DiscoverCars and the supplier, and it is confirmed only when you receive a booking reference.
Any payment is taken by DiscoverCars or the supplier, not by Cars Renta, and we never see your card details. You are responsible for checking that the dates, locations, driver details and extras in your booking are correct.
6. Changes and cancellations
Changes, cancellations and refunds follow the cancellation terms shown on the offer and in your booking confirmation. A booking made on this site can be viewed and, where the terms allow, cancelled from the link in your confirmation or through Manage booking. Bookings made on the DiscoverCars website are managed by DiscoverCars. Refunds are paid by whoever took the payment.
7. The rental supplier’s terms
When you collect the car you will sign the supplier’s rental agreement, which governs the rental itself: insurance, deposits, damage, fuel, mileage, cross-border travel, fines and tolls. Where the supplier’s terms differ from what is shown here, the supplier’s terms apply to the rental. You can download the rental terms for a booking made on this site from your booking page.
8. Driver requirements
The main driver must meet the supplier’s requirements, which normally include a minimum age, a full driving licence held for a minimum period, an International Driving Permit in some countries, a credit card in the main driver’s name for the deposit, and valid ID. If you cannot show what the supplier asks for at pick-up, it may refuse the rental, and refunds then depend on the booking’s terms.
9. Content and articles
Our guides, FAQs and blog articles are general information, not legal, insurance or travel advice. We try to keep them accurate, but rules, prices and conditions change, so always check the terms of your own booking.
10. Intellectual property
The site’s design, text, logos and software belong to Cars Renta or its licensors. Vehicle images, supplier names and logos belong to their owners. You may view and print pages for your own personal use, but not copy or re-use them commercially without our written permission.
11. Liability
We provide the site with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for the rental itself, the vehicle, the supplier’s service, or for information supplied by DiscoverCars or suppliers that turns out to be wrong — those are for DiscoverCars and the supplier under your contract with them.
So far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, business or opportunity. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
12. Third-party websites
The site links to DiscoverCars and other websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices. Their own terms and privacy policies apply.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you use the site applies, and the date at the top shows when it last changed. Changes do not affect bookings already made.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the country where Cars Renta is established. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in your local courts.
15. Contacting us
Questions about these terms: support@cars-renta.com, or through our contact page. For questions about an existing booking, contact DiscoverCars or the supplier using the details in your confirmation.
