How pricing works

Cars Renta does not set prices. Every figure you see comes from a rental supplier through our partner DiscoverCars, and it changes with your dates, your pick-up point and how far ahead you book.

What the quoted price includes

The total shown against an offer is what the supplier charges for the rental itself, plus the taxes and airport fees they are obliged to collect. Each offer page lists these individually under Included in the price — it is worth reading, because an airport surcharge or a vehicle registration fee can be a meaningful part of a cheap rental.

What it does not include

Extras such as a GPS unit, a child seat or an additional driver are paid at the desk, and their prices appear on the offer page before you book. Fuel is governed by the fuel policy — most commonly full to full, meaning you return the car as you found it.

The deposit

Nearly every supplier blocks a deposit on the main driver's credit card at pick-up. It is not a charge — the amount is held and released after you return the car — but the card must have room for it, and it must be in the driver's own name. The amount varies widely by vehicle and supplier, so each offer page states it plainly.

Mileage

Some offers include unlimited mileage; others include a daily or total allowance and charge per kilometre beyond it. This is set per offer, never by us, and is shown on the offer itself. If you are planning long drives, check it before price alone.

Damage cover

Without extra cover you remain liable for a damage excess, which the offer page shows. DiscoverCars sells its own Full Coverage product at checkout, which refunds that excess if something happens. It is their product, sold and administered by them — we do not underwrite insurance and take no part in claims.
