Booking
A full driving licence held for at least one year, a credit or debit card in the main driver’s name, and photo ID. Drivers under 25 may pay a young-driver surcharge.
It depends on the rate you pick. Many offers include free cancellation up to a stated deadline, and the offer page says so explicitly along with the cut-off. Others charge a fee. Because the booking is held by DiscoverCars, changes and cancellations are made through them, using the reference in your confirmation email.
No. You can book by the hour, the day or the month, and extend at any point from your confirmation email.
Payment
No. The price quoted at booking includes the daily rate, taxes and any coverage you select. The only extras are fuel and optional add-ons chosen at the counter.
A pre-authorisation is placed at pickup and released on return. The rental itself is charged when you collect the vehicle.
Insurance
That depends on the offer. Every rental includes the cover the supplier provides as standard, and most offers let you add damage cover at checkout on DiscoverCars. What is included, and the excess you would be liable for, is shown on each offer page — read it there before booking, because it differs between suppliers.
Report it to us before returning the vehicle. If you took CDW, the excess is waived up to the policy limit and we handle the claim for you.
Vehicles
Within the United States, yes. Cross-border travel into Canada or Mexico needs to be declared at booking so the right cover can be issued.
Vehicles are supplied with a full tank and should be returned full. If not, we refuel at the local pump rate plus a small service charge.
Usually yes, but it is the supplier who decides, and many charge for it. Additional-driver terms appear in the rental conditions on the offer page. Cars Renta does not set or waive those charges.
